The iPhone 4S launched on China Mobile’s network last month to much fanfare, but unfortunately the celebration was cut short when it was reported and confirmed that there were some SIM card problems that made the iPhone 4S incompatible with China Mobile’s network. However the good news for our friends and readers over in China is that the issue has apparently been fixed, according to China Mobile.

The carrier has revealed that the GSM chip in the iPhone 4S supported the P frequency (885-915MHz), but not the E frequency (880-890MHz) that China Mobile utilizes. The issue has apparently been solved and all iPhone 4S’ manufactured after the 8th of February now support China Mobile’s network. For existing owners, it seems that Apple is considering releasing a China specific iOS update that will resolve the issue in the near future. Given how the developing market of China is an extremely important one for Apple according to Tim Cook, we guess that it’s a good thing they resolved this issue without taking too long.
