Galaxy Nexus with a massive replacement battery; sleekness a trade-off

The folks over at DroidLife are giving away a Seidio 3800mAh battery for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. The standard battery that comes with the Nexus is a mere 1850mAh and could give you just about a day of usage. The battery is NFC capable so if you do choose this power packed monster of a batter you will not be missing out on NFC apps like Google Wallet.

The back of the battery juts out so far from the phone it nearly looks like your phone is a hunch back but for some, the extra power which might get you two or maybe even 3 days of life for your Galaxy Nexus. The back cover comes in Black and in no way does that match the Galaxy Nexus which usually comes in that gold-ish silver hue.

While the back cover is slip resistant, if you do drop the phone even with the large battery sticking out that could be used as a “hold” in rock-climbing it must be because of your own clumsiness. As you can see in the picture above, not only does the battery stick out of the phone quite a bit, but it also does not match the colour, but for those of you who want that extra power or would like the option of a battery that could last you 2-3 days (camping trips maybe), you can purchase the battery for $75.
