Draw Something dethroned by Angry Birds Space in App Store

The latest installment of the Angry Birds franchise, Angry Birds Space has knocked Draw Something off the top of the Top Paid Chart and Top Grossing Chart in several territories. While Zynga’s new acquisition, Draw Something maintains its perch on the top of the Free Chart and is still the most popular Facebook game with 13.9 million active daily users.

Rovio, the company behind the Angry Birds franchise said today that the game will not be appearing on “smaller platforms” like Windows Phone and that it was very possible that the number of downloads across all platforms could reach a billion over the next few months. As for Draw Something, at least new owners, Zynga who reportedly acquired the developers (OMGPOP) for a figure believed to be in the region of $200 million, still have their spot on the Free Chart and Facebook.
