Both Android developers and users will be interested in hear that the app size limit has been raised from 50MB to a whopping 4GB. While this might sound like bad news for those who are worried about breaking their data cap, it could also mean that development for apps just got a whole lot more complex, allowing developers to add more features and functionality. According to Android Developers, the APK file size is still limited to 50MB, but will now allow two additional/expansion files attached to the APK with each up to 2GB in size. The Android Market will continue hosting your apps, so developers will not to worry on the file hosting front either. Sounds pretty interesting and we can’t wait to see what developers can start cooking up with the file size cap increased.
