Amazon could unveil two new 7″ Kindle Fires this year [Rumor]

There have been many rumors that suggests that Amazon might be getting ready for a new Kindle Fire tablet in 2012. Some are saying it will be a 10” device, while others claim it will be 8.9”, and adding on to those rumors is this latest piece that seems to suggest that Amazon will not only be releasing a new Kindle Fire this year, but will be releasing two 7” versions as well alongside the new model.

While it is unclear if this new model will be in the 8.9” or 10” variety, what we do know is that according to the rumors, the two 7” models will be offered at different configurations at different prices. The lower-end Kindle Fire will come with a 7” display and a resolution of 1024×600 same as the original (although we’re guessing its internal hardware might see an upgrade), while the higher-end 7” model will feature a 7” display with a resolution of 1280×800.

If the rumors pan out, this means that in 2012 we can expect to see Amazon release 3 Kindle Fire tablets alone. Likely? Hard to say, but as is the case with all rumors, we suggest you take this with a grain of salt for now.
