With the success of the Amazon Kindle Fire tablet, we guess we can’t say that we’re surprised to learn that the company has plans to release additional tablets this year. While no concrete plans have been revealed, the folks over at Digitimes have once again come forward and claim that Amazon has plans to launch two new tablets – a 7” model and a larger 10” model in the second half of 2012. Their industry sources have also revealed that the 10” model will be outsourced to Quanta and Foxconn for its production. Will this rumor hold true? While it’s not a stretch of the imagination that Amazon is looking for a successor to the 7” Kindle Fire last year, Digitimes’ track record has been more miss than hit lately, so we suggest taking all of this with a grain of salt for now until more details have been uncovered.
