Good news Verizon Droid Xyboard owners, it looks like an update is being rolled out for both the Xyboard 8.2 and the Xyboard 10.1. The update brings about several improvements and bug fixes, but most noticeably would be the Xyboard’s ability to roam 4G LTE on an international level. For those unfamiliar, basically you will be able to connect to a foreign carrier’s 4G LTE network while overseas if available. While it is a pretty nifty and useful feature for frequent travelers, it should be noted that data roaming fees are pretty expensive and it is possible to rack up hundreds of dollars by downloading a few MB worth of data. However if the costs can be justified, it seems that the Xyboard will be the first device from Verizon that supports 4G LTE international roaming. More information on the Droid Xyboard 8.2 and 10.1’s updates can be found at Verizon’s website.
