We’re not sure if there is a great demand for phones with built-in projectors, but Samsung seems to think so as they have recently announced the Samsung Galaxy Beam, an Android powered handset with an ultra-bright 15 lumens fully built-in projector that the company claims will be able to project images of up to 50” wide.

The Samsung Galaxy Beam will also come with a projector-dedicated app that allows the user to select content and project it easily. As far as its hardware is concerned, the handset will sport a 4” 480×800 TFT display, a 1GHz dual-core processor under the hood with 768MB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, a 5MP rear-facing camera with LED flash that can also capture 720p HD videos, and will be launched with Android 2.3 Gingerbread on board.

No word on how much the Samsung Galaxy Beam will cost, nor when will it be available, but if you think this sounds like the phone for you, check back with us for more updates!
