Parents, if you’re looking to get your kids in early on the tech scene, how about getting them their first Android tablet? Oregon Scientific has recently announced a kid-friendly tablet that they have dubbed the MEEP! which will be on display during the TIA Toy Fair held in New York, which is going on at the moment and will end on the 15th of February.

The MEEP! tablet is supposedly kid-friendly and will come with features such as movies, music, and e-books from leading developers. This seems to suggest that the tablet will not be able to access the Android Market, but then again we’re not sure how many kids actually need access to the Android Market to begin with. It will also feature accessories (sold separately) such as musical instruments, along with parental controls which can be adjusted remotely via computer or mobile device.

As far as it hardware is concerned, the MEEP! tablet will sport a 7” display, WiFi, a G-Sensor, an SD card slot and will run on Android, although it was not specified which version of Android it will be running on. No word on pricing or availability just yet, but if you happen to be in New York, pop on over to the TIA Toy Fair for more information.
