If Samsung’s 5” offering, the Galaxy Note, did not amaze you, then perhaps you’d be interested in taking a look at an alternative in the form of the LG Optimus Vu. The device was leaked several times in the past and has even seen a side-by-side comparison with the Samsung Galaxy Note, but it looks like it has finally been made official!

As far as its specs are concerned, the LG Optimus Vu will feature a 5” IPS display, a display whose colors are said to be reproduced in a more natural manner. It will also feature a 4:3 aspect ratio along with 4G LTE connectivity. Under the hood, the Optimus Vu does not disappoint with its 1.5GHz dual-core processor along with a whopping 32GB of internal storage, an 8MP rear-facing camera, a 1.3MP front-facing camera, HDMI and DLNA connectivity, a 2,080mAh battery and will come with Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

For those who might be a bit put off by the Gingerbread 2.3 offering, fret not as the Optimus Vu will be seeing the delicious Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich in no time, although right now no specific dates were mentioned. No word on when it will arrive stateside, but we expect LG to be providing more details at MWC 2012, so check back with us then. [Press release]
