If you’re the type of consumer that requires the use of a rugged phone, you might be interested to find out that Kyocera has released a new phone dubbed the DuraPlus, which as the name might have already given away, is a phone that has been designed to withstand rugged environments. It has been designed with military-grade durability, which includes dust, shock, vibration resistance, is usable in extreme temperatures, humidity, blowing rain and can withstand up to 30 minutes of immersion in water up to 1m in depth. The DuraPlus will also feature a built-in LED flash light and will make use of Sprint’s push-to-talk service, Direct Connect. So if this sounds like the phone for you, the Kyocera DuraPlus is expected to go on sale some time later this year on Sprint’s network, but unfortunately release date and pricing have yet to be confirmed.
