A while back, it was reported that a small number of HP TouchPads were shipped with Android on it. HP however insisted that they had no obligation to release the source code, which resulted in users turning to ROMs such as CyanogenMod that allowed them to run Android on the HP TouchPad tablet. Well the good news is that HP has finally decided to release the source code for the Android software that was spotted on several HP TouchPads, but unfortunately the source code is dated back in 2011 and has not been updated in nearly a year, but the good news is that the developers behind the CyanogenMod ROM have found a couple of things in its kernel that they plan to incorporate into future versions. For more information on the kernel or if you’d like to download it for yourself, head on over to the RootzWiki forum.
