ASUS Transformer Pad 300 is the lower-end sibling of the Transformer Prime

If you wanted to get the ASUS Transformer Prime, but you felt it was a bit too expensive for your tastes, you might be interested in checking out its slightly more affordable sibling, the Transformer Pad 300 series. Its internal specs appear to remain the same as its predecessor, but the main difference here is that Transformer Pad 300 has made LTE connectivity an option, and instead of an aluminum body, it will now be made out of plastic instead. It will also have its screen downgraded from Super IPS+ to regular IPS.

Under the hood it will still be powered by NVIDIA’s Tegra 3 quad-core processor, an 8MP/2MP rear/front-facing camera, a 10.1” 1280×800 standard IPS display, 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded via microSD and will come with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich on board. Still a pretty decent tablet overall if you don’t mind the plastic build. No word on availability just yet, but more details are expected to be revealed over the next couple of months with pricing specific to the different regions it will be launched in.
