ASUS rolls out Android 4.0 update for the original Transformer in Taiwan

Just the other day we reported that ASUS UK announced that Android 4.0 would be arriving for the original Transformer tablet in February, and it turns out that they may have very well meant it! It seems that the highly-anticipated Android 4.0 update has begun rolling out to Transformer users over in Taiwan, and to a certain extent we can’t say that we’re surprised given that Taiwan is ASUS’ home ground after all. This is what ASUS had to say on their Facebook page:

Many of our Eee Pad Transformer TF101 users have waited patiently for the promised Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update and we are delighted to announce that the first wave of FOTA updates for TF101 firmware v.9.2.1.11 started today in Taiwan. The update will FOTA in other regions soon after.

Although we will announce several new innovations at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next week, we take great pride in delivering on-going enhancements and support for products that are well into their life cycle.
