AQUA TEK S iPhone casing looks sturdy

Upon first glance, you would be forgiven if you thought that those looked more like handheld gaming consoles rather than a smartphone, but we guess that’s the price one might have to pay if they were interested in giving their iPhone a rugged casing that’s not only waterproof, but will also be solar powered and at the same time provide a boost in the iPhone’s battery life. This is a Kickstarter project by Snow Lizard Products, and they have dubbed their iPhone case the AQUA TEK S.

Now it isn’t the most pretty of iPhone cases we’ve seen so far, but if you’re the type that requires the use of a smartphone in rugged terrain, and will not always have access to a power source, then perhaps the AQUA TEK S might be for you. It is made out of polycarbonate materials with rubber grips for added protection, and it boasts that it is waterproof up to 20 feet and will also be able to withstand drops, falls and accidental spills. As this is a Kickstarter project, it will require your pledge if you wish to see it made a reality. Its makers have set a goal of $75,000 and so far have reached nearly $10,000.
