Sony Ericsson Xperia Nypon shows up in NenaMark benchmark test

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Nypon has been much talked about but unfortunately apart from the Xperia S, the device was a no show at CES 2012. However there is a good chance it will be unveiled at MWC 2012 in February, but for those slightly impatient, thanks to NenaMark benchmark tests, we can now confirm some of the specs of the device.

Previously rumor had it that the Xperia Nypon would be powered by the NovaThor U8500 chipset, and based on the benchmark test results, it appears to be the case. It looks as though the Nypon will feature a 1GHz processor with the ARM Mali-400 MP GPU accompanying it. It also appears to feature a display resolution of 540×960, but unfortunately no word on its remaining specs, such as display size, internal storage, RAM or which version of Android will it come loaded with.

Like we mentioned earlier, there is a good chance of the Xperia Nypon making an appearance at MWC 2012, which is a dedicated smartphone/tablet event as opposed to CES. Either way check back with us during MWC 2012 to see what Sony Ericsson has planned for you guys this year.
