Sony Ericsson working on a Windows Phone handset?

Sony Ericsson seems to be producing mostly Android smartphones, and at one point have even come forward and stated that they are choosing Google’s Android platform over Microsoft’s Windows Phone, but assuming the photo above is to be believed, what we are looking at could very well be a Windows Phone-based Sony Ericsson smartphone.

While we can’t really see pictures of the operating system on the phone, the “Windows” button on the device is a dead giveaway, assuming of course it has not been photoshopped. As you can also see on the bottom of the phone, this particular device is a prototype which means that Sony Ericsson may have simply been testing out the idea of a Windows Phone, and it is possible that this device may never see the light of day. Then again, with Sony planning to start releasing smartphones under its own brand, could we be seeing a Windows Phone-based Sony phone in the future?
