Instagram could arrive on Windows Phone before Android

Instagram is a photography sharing app that iOS users have long enjoyed as far as exclusivity is concerned. Android users probably rejoiced when they discovered that the company would be bringing the app over onto their platform, but if the new reports are to be believed, it looks like Microsoft’s Windows Phone platform could very well be receiving the port before Android does, which admittedly is one of the fewer occasions where Windows Phone gets an app before iOS/Android.

According to the source, Microsoft and Instagram are working together at porting the app over onto Windows Phone, and given how Microsoft has been quite aggressive at attracting developers over onto Windows Phone by offering them various benefits (i.e. free devices, funding, etc), we wouldn’t be surprised if Instagram saw it as more profitable to release their app on Windows Phone first. Either way we suggest you should take this piece of rumor with a grain of salt for now, at least until an announcement or launch has been made.
