Casio planning quad-core 4G LTE capable Android handset?

Casio was never really known for high-end smartphones. In fact most of their mobile devices have tended to gravitate towards rugged/affordable handsets which may appeal only to a niche group of audience. Well assuming Droid-Life’s source is to be believed, it seems that Casio may have plans to enter the high-end smartphone market.

According to the source, Casio unveiled several handsets to the focus group. Amongst these included several clam shelled devices, a new G’Zone phone, a 5” device that seemed to be a mockup, and what appeared to be a particularly high-end Android handset.

This particular device reportedly features a 4.5”-4.7” Super AMOLED display, a quad-core processor, NFC, 4G LTE capabilities, an 8MP rear-facing camera, a 2MP front-facing camera and apparently is running on the latest version of Android, which we’re assuming is Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It was also reported that the volume rock and lock switch were the only physical buttons available, suggesting onscreen soft keys much like the Galaxy Nexus.

Now we know that Casio isn’t the first brand you’d think of when it comes to smartphones, but assuming that such a product exists with plans to be put into production, is that a phone you would consider?
