If you have recently rooted your Amazon Kindle Fire tablet, you might be a bit annoyed or disappointed to hear that the new update for the Kindle Fire will break the root. This update has already started rolling out, so some of you guys may have already received the notification. The update will be bringing your Kindle Fire’s firmware to 6.2.2, and like we said, the update will break your root but not to fear as BurritoRoot2 is available and will work for the 6.2.2 update.

No word on what sort of changes the update will be bringing to the table since Amazon has yet to upload a changelog, but according to various reports from users who have already received the update, one of the changes that 6.2.2 will be bringing to the table would be a full screen browsing mode for Amazon’s Silk browser. If you’d rather not wait around for the notification, you will be able to manually pull the update by going to Settings > Device > Update your Kindle. Rooted users will be able to download the BurritoRoot2 tool from the XDA forums.
