World’s first Android retail store opens in Australia

Published

on

Apple customers have the luxury of the Apple retail stores where they can go in and play around with Apple’s range of products, such as the iPhone, iPad, iPod, Mac computers and etc. Android owners on the other hand have been pretty much left out of the retail experience loop, at least until now where Google and Australian carrier Telstra have worked together to bring the Android retail experience to the residents of Melbourne.

They have dubbed the new store AndroidLand and will situated in the CBD of Melbourne itself. It appears to be quite a playful concept where customers can come in and try a variety of Android devices and play games and use Google’s services such as Google Earth and whatnot. A pretty interesting concept we have to admit, but will it blossom into more branches worldwide much like Apple’s retail store, or will it remain as a novelty? We guess we’ll have to wait and see, but for now we wouldn’t mind dropping by and taking a look for ourselves!
