Verizon acknowledges Galaxy Nexus update

While we know that an Android 4.0.3 update is scheduled to roll out to the Galaxy Nexus and Nexus S, Verizon has officially come forward and acknowledge the update themselves. According to Verizon’s spokeswoman, the Galaxy Nexus is expected to “will adjust the signal strength indicator to more closely match other Verizon Wireless devices,” which seems like their way of acknowledging the signal strength issues that some Galaxy Nexus owners have been facing.

Unfortunately no word from Verizon on when the update is expected to start rolling out, but it seems that when some customers called in to Verizon, their customer reps have told them to expect the update to arrive some time in January. We have no way to confirming if that information is accurate, but if it is, it looks like Galaxy Nexus owners will have to wait just a little over a week before January hits, which in all fairness does not seem particularly long.
