Siri hacked onto a rotary telephone

A rotary telephone is something of an outdated piece of technology, but Siri on the other hand appears to be somewhat revolutionary, or at least that’s how Apple has marketed it to be. In an effort to combine old and new, a hacker has decided to integrate Siri’s services into a rotary telephone with the use of a Bluetooth headset.

The Bluetooth headset has been wired to the number “1” button on the phone, which when pressed enables Siri on the iPhone 4S. The microphone of the Bluetooth and its receiver has been wired into the handset of the rotary telephone, so you’d just have to speak your instructions to Siri like you would on a normal telephone.

As the hacker has explained in the video below, Siri acts like a telephone operator in the past when you wished to be connected to another person, except this time its automated. It appears to work out pretty well and instructions are available on his website if you wish to create something similar for yourself. In the meantime you can check out the video below to see the hack in action.
