Samsung Fascinate will receive Gingerbread 2.3 update

With the emphasis being placed on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, some of us tend to forget that there are a still good many Android handsets out there that are still running on Froyo 2.2 or even Eclair 2.1. One such phone is Verizon’s Samsung Fascinate which is still stuck on Froyo 2.2 in the world of Gingerbread 2.3, but not anymore.

The good news for those who are still holding on to their Samsung Fascinate handsets is that Verizon has announced plans to issue an OTA update that will bring the device up to Gingerbread 2.3.
