RIM reportedly approached Samsung to license out Blackberry OS
Well as it turns out, it seemed that Samsung did not see any value in developing a smartphone with RIM’s Blackberry OS on board. It’s not surprising considering that one of the main reasons behind RIM’s declining smartphone platform market share is because of Blackberry OS that failed to deliver what customers wanted in platforms such as iOS and Android.
With RIM pretty much betting the horse on their Blackberry 10 platform for the later half of 2012, let’s hope that they get it right this time and that Blackberry 10 will be RIM’s return to success and a decent slice of the smartphone platform pie.
