No Google Wallet for the Galaxy Nexus?

If you’re looking forward to mobile payment services on your phone, the good news is that you have services to choose from such as Google Wallet and ISIS (which has yet to launch in an official capacity). The bad news is that if you were hoping to gain access to Google Wallet via the Galaxy Nexus, you’re out of luck as Verizon is reportedly blocking access to Google Wallet on their Galaxy Nexus smartphones.

On one hand, the Nexus S has access to Google Wallet so we were hoping that another Google Nexus device might be able to take advantage of Google Wallet as well. Unfortunately that isn’t the case and we guess we can’t say that we’re too surprised. If you remember, ISIS has the backing of three of the four major carriers – AT&T, T-Mobile, and you guessed it – Verizon! Google Wallet in a way is a competing service as it is a collaboration between both Sprint and Google.

However this has not been confirmed by Verizon yet, so for now we suggest taking this information with a grain of salt, although given our logic above we can’t help but feel that this piece of news does hold a certain amount of truth in it.
