New touchscreens scoffs at greasy fingers

There is one thing about even the best touchscreen on a phone which is in the market today – these displays might be super sharp in terms of resolution and have the best color saturation, but all of that will still do zilch against a greasy finger that has just fed you a slice of pizza, only to scroll down the list of tunes on your iPhone. Well, trust a team of German scientists to actually figure out a solution to your touchscreen conundrum that involves eating greasy finger food while tying to maximize the use of your handset.

The researchers over at the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research in Mainz figured out that combination of candle soot and silica that has been baked at just the correct temperature will solve the issue of greasy displays. To put it in a nutshell, a grease-proof glass might be the next best thing ever to be introduced to the world, and it would be interesting to see which smartphone manufacturer will be the first to incorporate such displays into their devices.
