Motorola Droid Xyboard tablets see a $50 price cut

If you have been thinking about getting yourself the Motorola Droid Xyboard from Verizon, but one of the reasons that you held back was due to the price, the good news is that it seems Verizon has decided to slash $50 off the Droid Xyboard tablets. We can’t be sure if this is a response to the majority of reviewers complaining about the pricing, or if Verizon has decided to be charitable, but either way we can’t say we don’t appreciate it.

What this price cut means that if you wanted to get your hands on the 10.1” model, you can now expect to pay $479, $579 and $679 for the 16GB, 32GB and 64 GB versions respectively, but if you’d rather go for the smaller 8.2” model, you can expect prices of $379 and $479 for the 16GB and 32GB versions respectively, which we have to admit does sound a lot more affordable and on par with other Android tablet offerings.

For those who might have forgotten, both the Droid Xyboard 10.1 and 8.2 are also known as the Motorola Xoom 2 and Xoom 2 Media Edition. They both feature identical specs, just that one will be in the larger 10.1” variety while the other will be of the 8.2” variety. Both feature 1.2GHz dual-core processors, 1GB of RAM, Gorilla Glass displays, 5MP/1.3MP rear/front-facing cameras and will come with Android Honeycomb 3.2 on board, and even better news is that these tablets will see an Android 4.0 update in the future.
