iPhone 4S on its way to China Unicom

A few days ago there were reports that China Unicom had yet to receive the iPhone 4S and that it was still pending certification from the government. The good news is that it appears the iPhone 4S has been given the necessary certification from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology which means that the iPhone 4S is a go.

According to China Unicom, the iPhone 4S should be available on its network as early as by the end of December and no later than January 23rd, although the carrier is aiming for a release before the 1st of January. So if you happen to live in China and you have been hankering for the iPhone 4S, keep your eyes peeled for the availability of the device on China Unicom’s network!
