Hasbro sues ASUS over “Transformer Prime” name

When ASUS announced the Transformer Prime tablet, we had to admit we were surprised to see that no one said anything, especially Habro who owns the Transformers toy franchise. It looks like we might have gotten ahead of ourselves as it seems that Hasbro is not too happy about ASUS using the Transformer Prime name and are now suing them for trademark violation.

Hasbro is seeking not only damages and a temporary injunction against the ASUS Transformer Prime tablet. Given the nature of the Transformer Prime product and the Transformers toys, we find it hard that anyone could be mistaken, although we could be mistaken. Either way it looks like the lawsuit has already been filed and we’ll keep you guys updated on the progress and outcome of the situation.
