LG Nitro HD launched on AT&T

Remember the LG Nitro HD? Well for those that don’t, the LG Nitro HD is AT&T’s version of the South Korea’s LG Optimus LTE. The good news is that the device is finally available on AT&T’s network for a price of $250 with a two year contract of course. So why should you be excited about the launch of the LG Nitro HD? Well here’s why.

The LG Nitro HD features a 1280×720 720p IPS display, which means that color reproduction and brightness should be pretty good. It will also sport a 1.5GHz dual-core processor under the hood with a dual-lens 8MP camera with Android’s Gingerbread 2.3 on board. Let’s not forget that just like its South Korean counterpart, the LG Nitro HD will be 4G LTE compatible on AT&T’s new LTE network.

As far as the device sporting Ice Cream Sandwich, that remains to be seen for now. We know that LG has outed several devices that will be receiving the ICS update, but given how the Nitro HD is probably the company’s best phone to date, it’s safe to assume that the ICS update will be arriving on the Nitro HD in due time. For now we’ll just enjoy its display and zippy LTE speeds on Gingerbread.
