iOS 5.0.1 apparently did not fix the battery draining problem

It seems that iOS 5.0.1 issued by Apple yesterday did not fix what the update had intended to fix. The update was meant to address the battery draining issue that users faced when they updated to iOS 5. Earlier reports during the beta of iOS 5.0.1 had stated that the battery issue was solved, and was better than expected, but now it appears that the public roll out of the update fell way short of those expectations.

There has been a flood of complaints in both Apple’s forums and Twitter about the update, with users claiming that the battery drain is worse than before, with reports that battery life dropping by 20% with light usage, and a 2% drop just for launching mobile Safari. Apple has yet to address these complaints, but here’s hoping that they will address that issue asap.
