Could Siri be a paid upgrade for older iPhones?

We had previously reported on a rumor that Apple may be working on bringing Siri over onto older iPhones, and now there’s a new rumor that suggests that should older iPhones want the Siri option, they will have to pay to upgrade their iOS in order to gain Siri functionality. The rumors are suggesting that this paid upgrade will cost $19.99, although we’ll take that with a grain of salt for now.

Siri has been proving to be a very popular feature of the iPhone 4S, and it’s one of the features that sets it apart from the iPhone 4. Naturally some iPhone 4 users do not see the need for a brand new iPhone 4S and there have been developers working towards porting Siri over. However despite successful ports, they are unable to release it as porting Siri over to older iPhones is considered to be a form of piracy. The question is, if the rumors prove to be true, would you pay $19.99 to upgrade your iOS on your older iPhone model just for Siri?
