Not too long ago, Samsung had requested that the Australian courts ask Apple to turn over the contracts that Apple has with the carriers in Australia. We weren’t sure why Samsung wanted to see the deals that Apple made with said carriers, but they wanted it anyway. The Australian court has recently agreed to grant Samsung’s request, with a caveat that the contracts will be turned over only if an agreement between Apple and Samsung could not be reached.
It was revealed that Samsung felt that Apple was forcing local carriers to subsidize the iPhone, which we guess they felt unfair since a cheaper iPhone would be preferable compared to a more expensive Samsung Android handset.
