Apple investigating battery life issues with iOS 5.0.1

Apple has recently released a statement to AllThingsD stating that they are still investigating the battery issues that many of their users are facing after upgrading to iOS 5. “The recent iOS software update addressed many of the battery issues that some customers experienced on their iOS 5 devices […] We continue to investigate a few remaining issues.”

Many iOS 5 users were complaining that after the upgrade, battery life on their devices was exceptionally poor, claiming drastic drops in battery life even with light usage. Apple then attempted to rectify this with the update iOS 5.0.1, which they claimed would fix the battery issues. The beta of the update was reportedly met with huge success, but upon public rollout it appears that the issue remained.

In fact for some users, they were complaining that battery life after iOS 5.0.1 was worse than with iOS 5.0. Have you been affected as well, or has battery life not been an issue even with iOS 5.0? Either way, let’s hope that Apple gets a fix out asap.
