Smartphones that can be paired with G-Shock watches

Fans of Casio’s G-Shock watches will be pleased to know that the upcoming GB-6900 will come equipped with Bluetooth 4.0 LE (Low Energy). The announcement of the watch seems to have been around the same time that Japan’s NTT DoCoMo revealed that they will be launching the Medias LTE N-04D and Medias PP N-01D smartphones. Details of the phones are still hazy at this point, but similar to the G-Shock, these phones will come equipped with Bluetooth 4.0 LE as well.

What this means for future owners of the G-Shock GB-6900 and these Medias phones is that they should be able to sync their times together. On top of that, the watch is said to be able to display notifications such as incoming calls or messages. The phones are expected to be available in 2012, while the G-Shock GB-6900 will be available come this December for $235.
