Samsung Nexus Prime spotted at the FCC with AT&T/T-Mobile radios?
The Samsung Galaxy Nexus, or Nexus Prime, whatever you want to call it, was expected to see a launch come 11th of October during Samsung’s Unpacked 2011 event. Unfortunately the event was postponed so it looks like we won’t be seeing the device just yet. The device has been rumored to be making its way onto Verizon, but a recent spotting of the device in the FCC seems to suggest that it could make its way onto other carriers as well.
According to the spec sheet, the device was spotted with both AT&T and T-Mobile radios, which seems to contradict previous rumors, but then again there is a rumor that there will be a pair of Prime devices, with Verizon supposedly getting the exclusive “Droid Prime”, while other carriers will get the “Galaxy Nexus” instead. I guess we will have to wait and see for ourselves.
So, there is a new Samsung smartphone that is about to be released – big surprise, that, and I say this with full a sarcasm. Still, those who want something that looks to hang out on the high end side of things in terms of design and form factor, and yet having a mid-range performer within, can always settle for the Samsung Galaxy A9.
The handset has already appeared on the FCC database, which means it has been approved, and listed as the Samsung Galaxy A9. With the green light given, it is but a matter of time before it hits the market. If you would like to fancy your chances with an upcoming mid-range device that seems to hover more on the higher end scheme of things, then the Samsung Galaxy A9 would certainly fit you to a ‘t’, so to speak. After all, accessory manufacturer ITSKINS has shared more details concerning this device, with the Galaxy A9 touted to be a wee bit more compact as opposed to the Galaxy S7 Plus, never mind that both handsets will come with 6.0″ screens.
Measurements of the Galaxy A9 include 161.9mm x 81.3mm x 7.34mm, where it would be slightly taller than the Galaxy Note5, while sporting a metal and glass design, a fingerprint reader that should be able to handle mobile payments, a Full HD Super AMOLED display, and a Snapdragon 620 chipset, among others.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 will no doubt be a smartphone that many people would look forward to picking up when it is ready, taking into consideration how flagship devices are always in demand. Well, the Galaxy S7 has been said to target an early 2016 release, and some photos of the alleged device has already been snapped, although one should take into consideration that the original Weibo post is no longer there.
Of course, do take this particular leak with a pinch of salt, since it could be one of the numerous smartphones from various manufacturers that could roll out a similar looking handset. In the leaked photos, you can see a wrap-around metal border design, which seems to be the in thing at least for the next couple of years. All that we can do now is to sit tight and wait for the real deal to surface.
