Samsung Galaxy Nexus does not use Gorilla Glass

There have been some rumors surrounding the Samsung Galaxy Nexus about it sporting Corning’s Gorilla Glass. The Gorilla Glass can typically be found in some of the more higher end phones and devices, so it was a natural assumption by many that the Galaxy Nexus would be using the same glass. Unfortunately that does not appear to be the case.

Corning has come forward and stated that the Galaxy Nexus does not use their Gorilla Glass technology, and according to Samsung, the Galaxy Nexus instead uses a type of “fortified glass”, although that’s pretty much all they let on. It looks like we will have to wait for those “drop” tests to see how strong Samsung’s “fortified glass” really is.
