Nokia Windows Phone to launch in Europe first?

So we know that Nokia has plans to launch several new Windows Phone devices, and it has been assumed that the adoption of the Windows Phone platform is to help fight against the onslaught of Android and iOS devices flooding the market in the US, but apparently that’s not to be.

It seems that there are reports of a purported leaked document which seems to suggest that Nokia will be focusing their Windows Phone efforts to Europe during its launch, with a US launch aimed some time later. Given that Nokia has a better foothold and reputation in Europe compared to the US, in a way this move does make sense, although with Microsoft pumping in a pair bit of money into Nokia, could they be disappointed by Nokia’s choice to forgo the US market in favor of Europe at the start?

With the Nokia World event to be held tomorrow, hopefully more will be revealed then but for now we’re guessing that there are many US hopefuls who may be disappointed by this rumor. We suggest taking this with a grain of salt for now until things have been made official.
