LG Optimus 2X might still get the Ice Cream Sandwich update

Just before the weekend, it seemed like there was a lot of buzz surrounding the LG Optimus 2X Android handset. The reason behind this buzz was because it was understood at that time that LG had no plans to offer the Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 update for the device. It seemed a little odd since the device appears to have the specs necessary for the update and it wasn’t exactly an old phone either.

Well, LG has now come forward and stated that they did not say that the update would not be arriving on the Optimus 2X, but rather they have yet to make the decision as to whether they would roll out the ICS update for the handset, and that it is currently under testing. Looks like owners of the Optimus 2X will see a second lease of life for their handset.
