iPhone 3GS is now free on contract

Previous rumors of the iPhone had suggested that Apple would be creating a cheaper/budget model for developing countries. However as the iPhone 4S was released, it was clear that at Apple’s iPhone event, only one iPhone would be seeing the light of the day, but what about those budget iPhones?

Well it looks like if hardware specs don’t really concern you, the iPhone 3GS will now be free (on contract of course) in an 8GB model, while the iPhone 4 will also be available in an 8GB model and will set you back $99 on contract. Granted that this is old hardware, but for those who couldn’t afford Apple’s previous prices, it looks like now’s your chance to hop aboard the iOS train.
