HP claims they did not distribute TouchPads with Android
This could be a good or bad thing as developers Cyanogenmod have been busy trying to port Android over to the TouchPad, but if these claims are true, it looks like someone has beaten them to the punch. According to HP, they are claiming that they had no idea of this happening and that they had nothing to do with this.
Some developers are suspecting Qualcomm as the QuIC (Qualcomm Innovation Center) logo flashed when launching the tablet for the first time. Qualcomm has also said that the device was not manufactured or distributed by their QuIC division.
HP is now trying to trace this back to the source, but given that a good many people had purchased the $99 tablet in hopes of installing Android on it, it seems like a win-win situation. Unless of course you bought the tablet hoping for webOS instead.
