With RIM busy working to get their servers up and running again, many Blackberry users were probably left with a rather bad taste in their mouths, and while it is unknown how many actually went ahead and jumped ships to other platforms during this period of time, we do know that Microsoft made an attempt to lure frustrated Blackberry users over to their Windows Phone platform.

Today the founder of RIM, Mike Lazaridis, uploaded a video where he made a public apology to Blackberry users, where he apologized for the downtime in services and stating that “we’ve let many of you down.” While there are reports of service levels returning to normal, it is unknown how long it would take for a full recovery, not just in the technical aspect, but also in the perception that many Blackberry users have of RIM now.
