So last week for several days, many Blackberry users found themselves unable to send messages or emails or connect to any of RIM’s services. This was due to an outage which seems to have been fixed, or at least it’s getting back to what it once was. That may sound like bad news, but interestingly during that period of time, it was recorded road accidents in Dubai and Abu Dhabi were down by 20% and 40% respectively.
While texting and driving does cause accidents, are the number of Blackberry users texting and driving that many, hence the sharp declines in road accidents, or is this just a coincidence?
