For those of you that loving gaming on your mobile phones, it looks like thanks to Android 4.0 and the Galaxy Nexus’s HDMI, you should be able to use USB gamepads (like the Xbox 360 controllers) and turn your device into a full fledged portable gaming console! This was a feature originally found on Honeycomb, but we guess that not everyone owns or is willing to purchase an Android tablet just for that feature, so we guess it’s a good thing that they have brought the feature over onto ICS, which will be compatible with smartphones as well!
The screenshot above was discovered in an Android SDK and appears to be some sort of tutorial to guide the user in setting up their gamepad with their Android device. It’s starting to look like smartphones and tablets are really giving portable gaming console manufacturers a run for their money.
