Sprint introduces app to curb texting while driving

Texting or talking on the phone while driving is distracting, even with a hands-free device, which is why Sprint is introducing an app that should be able to help parents curb their teen’s texting/talking on the phone while driving.

It’s a subscription based app and will cost you $2 a month, although it seems that there is a free 15 day trial going on at the moment. What the app does is it can detect when a car is being driven over 10mph, at which point the app will lock the device and forward all calls to voice mail, and text messages will be auto replied and will silence all alerts that may distract the driver.

The app is only available for Android devices, and if you’re interested you can head on down to Sprint’s website for more information.
