Samsung looking to ban the iPhone 5 in South Korea

The lawsuits between Apple and Samsung have been pretty serious so far, with Apple even getting a successful injunction against the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 in both Australia and Germany. Now it looks like Samsung will be taking it to the next level with Apple’s soon-to-be-released iPhone 5.

Not much is known about the iPhone 5 as it has been shrouded in mystery, as per Apple’s typical practice, however the majority of the rumors and speculation seems to have agreed upon a possible launch date of somewhere in October. Regardless when the iPhone 5 is launching, Samsung has prepared to take Apple to court over it and are looking to get the handset banned in South Korea.

All this while, Apple has used design patents as one of the reasons behind their lawsuit against Samsung, while Samsung has relied upon the technology inside, and this time it looks like unless Apple somehow drastically changes the way their phones work, Samsung will be looking to ban the iPhone 5 on grounds that it infringes upon their wireless technology related patents. If you live in South Korea and you’re hoping to get your hands on the iPhone 5, if Samsung is successful with their lawsuit, you may be out of luck.
