Report of Samsung Prime hands on?

The Samsung Prime, just like the iPhone 5, has started receiving a lot of love from the rumor mill lately. Nothing concrete is known yet about the device apart from its name, which could go either way – the DROID Prime or the Nexus Prime. Now it seems that according to TheDroidGuy, while at the Verizon developer conference, a nondescript Samsung device was spotted in the hands of a Samsung employee.

It seems that after much persuasion and the removal of all possible recording devices, the device was handed over to TheDroidGuy for use. On the surface it appeared to look like the Samsung Nexus S only bigger with a home button in the front. It had an 8MP camera and a 2MP front camera and oddly enough it was running on Gingerbread 2.3 as opposed to Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0. This was apparently due to the fact that ICS was still having its bugs worked out.

According to the report, the Samsung Prime will be available in both CDMA and GSM flavors, which means you should be able to get it on any carrier. Now we have no way of verifying the truth to this report, but it does make for some pretty interesting discussion. Could the Nexus S look be just a housing for the internals of the device, or could the Samsung Prime really turn out to look like the Nexus S, which will be rather disappointing?
