Motorola has plans to release a Xoom 2 Media Edition

We had just reported on a possible leak of what appears to be the Motorola Xoom 2, but it looks like Motorola has plans for more than just one tablet as it seems that a Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition will also be made available. The device is expected to be smaller with a 8.2” HD IPS display made out of Gorilla Glass and a chassis made out of aluminum and magnesium, and supposedly will be splash proof.

Apparently what makes this a “media edition” is that it will feature an IR remote that would be able to control Motorola’s set top boxes, and it seems that a subwoofer will also be built into the device. Sounds pretty interesting but unfortunately it looks like no photos of the device have surfaced yet.
