One of the problems that Android faced in the past, and is still facing (although it’s slowly changing) is fragmentation. This was an issue that plagued Windows Phone 7 adopters too, whose release in the past was pretty much all over the place. The good news is that Microsoft has learnt from their mistakes, with the company claiming that with the Mango update, 98% of Windows Phone 7 users should be receiving the update to 7.5 in the next four weeks.

It’s a pretty impressive figure, even more so if Microsoft pulls it off. This is due to a coordinated effort by Microsoft, handset manufacturers and carriers in various countries. The Redmond company is expected to start slow by rolling out to 10% of their users first, with the amount snowballing to a whopping 98% within four weeks time.
